* Name: Name of the technology. Numbers can be used to show place in the tree.
* Category: Name of the relevant category. Numbers can be used to allow category differentiation between techs.
* Fluff description: flavour text (please see [http://www.freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=961 Brainstorming, Tech tree - other dimension (fluff)])
* Levels: It is unclear ATM to me if FO tech will have levels and if so how it will be related to refinements
** Maximum level
** Starting level
** Level Cost: The cost to increase one level in this tech area. It is unclear to me if the cost increases or remains stable as the levels get higher. If tech research includes probability of discovery this may also be adressed here (please see [http://www.freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=954 Brainstorming, Tech tree - other dimension (probability)]).
** Names of Tech Req: Names of tech required to be completed before this one can be researched

* Category: Construction or Economics or Learning or Production or Growth (1-5)
* Fluff description: tech example is used to illustrate how specific tech should be described in all releavant categories, so they can be easily unified later
* Levels: It is unclear ATM to me if FO tech will have levels and if so how it will be related to refinements
** Maximum level 10
** Starting level 1 
** Level Cost: 10000, n2=2*n1,
** Names of Tech Req: Tech Category (3-001) and Tech Tree (3-003)</s>
