static planet images

"Make it possible to toggle between opengl-rendered planets and static planet images (available in the art directory). There is an option that can be set in config.xml or the command-line to hide the planets, but there should be a toggle / setting in the UI options menu tab as well."

I don't think there are static images of planets anymore in SVN. Should I add them again and if this is the case, should I perhaps use screengrabs of the opengl rendered planets to maintain consistency? --Pd 10:37, 13 October 2009 (EDT)

That should actually be two separate points in the programming work list; there is no option to show static planet images, which makes sense since there aren't (AFAIK either) any static images to show. The toggle in question actually hides the planets entirely. Regardless, adding some static images we could show wouldn't hurt, although since they aren't used yet, you could just post them to the forums, where someone can get them in the event they're needed.
