:FreeOrion is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), and as required in that liscence, the source code is available to the liscencees.  I'm not sure of the details, but it appears that the graphics are also liscenced under the Creatice Commons Attribution - Share Alike liscence.  -Geoff

FreeOrion is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), and as required in that liscence, the source code is available to the lisencees. I'm not sure of the details, but it appears that the graphics are also liscenced under the Creative Commons Attribution - Share Alike license. -Geoff

Because the CC site has a nice and easy to understand summary of the GPL as well as the full legal code, in the native language of the person accessing the site. Just take a look -- Yoghurt 21:01, 29 Oct 2005 (EDT)
