- FreeOrion is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), and as required in that liscence, the source code is available to the lisencees. Why link to the GPL at the creative commons site, and not the FSF itself: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html
- Because the CC site has a nice and easy to understand summary of the GPL as well as the full legal code, in the native language of the person accessing the site. Just take a look -- Yoghurt 21:01, 29 Oct 2005 (EDT)
