I actually blocked "85.255.113.0/16", basically copying Yoghurt since I don't really know what the 0/16 stuff does, but it seems to have blocked all from 85.255.*.* when I just meant to do 85.255.113.* and 85.255.114.*
Probably not a problem though...
- /16 is the number of ones in succession in the netmask counted from right, so, you meant 85.255.113.0/24 and 85.255.114.0/24 -- Yoghurt 14:43, 16 Jan 2006 (EST)
- In fact, the complete network is 85.225.112.0 - 85.225.115.0 , so it would be 85.225.112.0/25) -- Yoghurt 14:46, 16 Jan 2006 (EST)
- "the number of ones" ? "counted from right" ? I dont know what you mean by that... Geoff the Medio 15:49, 16 Jan 2006 (EST)
- Sorry, it was from left :( /25 is 11111111.11111111.11111111.10000000, so the first 25 bit of the IP-Adress are the network, the last 9 bits are the hosts in that network[1]
- So 123.213.111.0/16 blocks everything with the first 16 bits of the indicated IP, or 123.213.*.* ? Geoff the Medio 17:10, 16 Jan 2006 (EST)
- Correct! -- Yoghurt 10:10, 17 Jan 2006 (EST)
- So 123.213.111.0/16 blocks everything with the first 16 bits of the indicated IP, or 123.213.*.* ? Geoff the Medio 17:10, 16 Jan 2006 (EST)
