FreeOrionはフリーでオープンソースの、 ターンベースの宇宙帝国ストラテジーゲームです (細かく言うと4X,"eXplore":探検、"eXpand":拡張、"eXploit":開発、"eXterminate":殲滅)。 freeorionプロジェクトによって設計から開発まで作られているゲームです。FreeOrionは伝統的なMaster of orion（日本語版がないので英語版)に触発されていますが、 しかし、Master of orionシリーズや他のゲームのクローンやリメイクではありません。

Linux users can use the snap package we provide on snapcraft.io (please be patient, it may take a few days until the 0.5.0.1 snap is available), or acquire from your distribution if available. If neither is possible, Linux users will need to build from source.
