Twenty-fifth game on the multiplayer slow game server

24th game suddenly expected to finish so I'll open new thread. Not sure which version to use, as 0.5 is played both with teamed and non-teamed game while master not yet have expected featured merged (especially Annexation). Weekly test build 2023-07-04.d2b1f58 will be used for this game.

Planned test game will be started 4th of July and actual game will be started 6th of July.

Changes from previous game:
  • Systems per player: 54.
  • Research cost: 90%.
  • Production cost: 90%.
  • Protection Focus Stability Bonus: 5
  • Planet Stability Baseline: 0
  • Singularity of Transcendence Cost Scaling: 0.5
  • Diplomacy changes disabled.
  • Single team.
  • Natives: High.
  • Specials: High.
  • Monsters Frequency: Extremely High.
  • Experimentors: Enabled.
  • Experimentors base turn: 100.
  • Galaxy Shape: Disc.
  • Wandering monsters ocassionally stop insystem.
  • Domesticated nest spawn factor: 0.5

I'm not sure that I'll be able to play this summer (nor do I know exactly when "summer" starts for me).

PS: What is this "Annexation" ?

I won't be able to play for a few days at the end of July (28th to 1st or so), and the rest of August I can need long turns (48 h at least).

Hmm my hiatus looks shorter than expected but I think I can join. Tougher time periods for me would be end of June/start of July and end of August but should be possible to play

Personally I haven't played open diplomacy scenario yet but I think I enjoyed no-diplomacy most :3

Experimentors should be tuned for better Tower Defense.

Actually I have nothing in mind even about version. If we got more people then maybe retry teamed game or free diplomacy game with release version.

Got an iDeA: highlander with with free diplomacy in tower defense.

Could add in some stuff for tower defense:

Game Rule(Tower Defense Mode)
Nests always spawn hostile
Adult nest monsters hunt colony
Drones hunt ship
.
.
.

Edit: Or a Challenge Tab with individual game rules. That way you can adjust the spawn rate on nests.

Oh interesting re: tower defence. Maybe it would make some more players to come out of the woods if it were some PvE collaboration rather than PvP?

Haven't followed the previous 19th game, just at some glance I think it was when Endhu joined and I think drkosy was interested too

Also not sure what it was, something about a lot of monster nests that spawn enemies at crazy rate and ultimate goal was to defeat Experimentors? But they were too lazy to show up?

Oh in the poll one suggestion is what Oberlus was saying about free diplomacy but in high monster sauce, right? Just did not catch if he was sarcastic that LR would like such scenario

Yes to both.
Having very high monsters wasn't that much of a challenge when all players were cooperating from start.
Experimentors couldn't be a match against 6+ empires that never wasted a PP to fight each other and could trade species and specialize into growth or research from start.

Absolutely sarcastic. LR has expressed his lack of interest into free diplomacy games (not sure if it is related to our interpersonal conflicts in free diplomacy games in the past). Another player, ThinkSome, was never interested on free diplo games, only all-vs-all or fixed teams.

Edit: LienRag, if we do free diplo TD in this game (I also voted for cooperative TD), I think the idea should be not to conquer the other empires but to be the first one to kill the Experimentor. For that highlander (max one winner) makes sense. But that can be done with fixed one-alliance too, so I don't have any preference regarding free-diplo / fixed single-team.

Edit2: I didn't vote for master version, but I would give it preference if Opinions and Annexation was merged.

Ok so there is one mix not considered in the poll, no diplomacy yet high monsters+experimentors :3

Edit: I meant no diplomacy all-war rather than what is there as no diplomacy - all allied
