I'll play. It's possible a team mate will have to play my empire for a short time if I end up going away
Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server

Re: Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server
I'll be able to babysit my partner's empire.
Re: Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server
Yes, but I didn't play the 23rd game.
From what I've read one main change has been the Replicons ?
I've played a short test game and apparently Vassalization has been nerfed ?
Have there been other important changes ?
Re: Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server
I think you can look at https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/ ... 6?closed=1, yes? There you can see the Vassalization nerf you are mentioning, "Reduce PLC_VASSALIZATION_INFLUENCE_SCALING to 2", other bigger recent change was "Xenophobic Selfsustaining Population Malus depend on distance to alien planet", but that obviously depends if there are xenophobes in play, and on that note I don't think there was much recent change to replicons actually, only some clarification what they do to point out the older changes which I think already were in the game you've played, just nobody had Replicons. Maybe "Zero Point Fuel Generator tweaks" something bigger too but I don't use that. "Include Planets Being Colonized in Colony Upkeep " might be something to take note of but frankly I have not paid attention myself
One known bug in the release is not properly limiting same part to 1 occurence so you can have multiple lances, shields that stack etc. but I rather believe the expectation is not to exploit it
Re: Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server
There's a fix for that over here: https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/pull/4531
though I don't know when/whether they'll release a bug-fix version of 0.5
Re: Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server
It's expected to happen but not so soon after release. Also I'll start test game tomorrow and actual game 1st of June.

Well yeah. Like I was never there. Bit of entertainment for me, I would not want to spoil for others

Re: Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server
I didn't get any mail to tell me that the game started, is that normal ?
Also when I play my turn and close my laptop (which put it in sleep mode and disconnects it from the Wifi) and reopen it later, FreeOrion changed its behaviour.
It used to crash when I clicked either on "end turn" or "revise turn" (because it was out of sync with the server), now the button just does nothing.
Which means that I have to exit to menu, and then if I connect to the MP game, I get an error message ("impossible to connect to server"), and if I try a second time, then FO crashes silently.
I have to relaunch FO entirely in order to be able to play again.

Yes, I disable mail sent on new game and new turn for test games.

Re: Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server
Maybe you already know this, but when you don't need to close the laptop in a hurry while playing, it's better for everyone if you close your FO client properly (disconnect before clicking on the X, or better exiting from menu). And if you are in a hurry and it's because you don't want others to see you're playing, alt-tab does quite the trick.LienRag wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:21 am Also when I play my turn and close my laptop (which put it in sleep mode and disconnects it from the Wifi) and reopen it later, FreeOrion changed its behaviour.
