Do you or one of your mates have researched plasma 2+? May this be related to MP settings to not show enemy techs you don't have?
Ah that's a very good thought. No I don't have plasmas at all, and I don't think TSO does either. o01eg, do you have plasma 2+?

Incidentally, what is the rule or setting syntax for that setting? Is it configurable?

So I posted a thread about this: https://freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11400

Until this is fixed, I'd be really grateful if we could turn on RULE_SHOW_DETAILED_EMPIRES_DATA. We've all seen most of the galaxy now so it shouldn't give away that much.

If it's not possible to change it mid-game, please can we play with it on next game - unless this gets fixed.

I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it's name in the code is RULE_SHOW_DETAILED_EMPIRES_DATA. (For future reference i found this by looking at the name of the option on the game setup screen ("show detailed empires data") and searching the code base for that string.)

Edit: Oh looks like you arleady found it while i was posting. Never mind...

P.S.
Big ups to Oberlus for stepping in while JonCST was away.

You mean Vezzra. :)
Indeed 8)

Unfortunately, Vezzra has no time to tinker with the universe generation scripts, as such a change would be far from trivial. The home system placement code is already quite complex, and currently the universe generation scripts are not aware of teams anyway. AFAIK there is no data about teams passed into these scripts...

It's passed with PlayerSetupData in create_universe function.

Server seems to have crashed/frozen.

I logged in, but couldn't send any messages. When i tried to end my turn, the turn button changed to "revise orders" as usual, but the empire window did not show the check mark to indicate my "Ready" status, and when i exited i received the Confirm Quit Orders Not Finalized dialog box.

Upon trying to re-log-in, just a black screen.

Ah ok, that must have been added after I last tinkered with that code then. Well, good. If the data is passed in, expanding the algorithm to take team assignments into account shouldn't be too much of a problem. Except for the problem that I really don't have any time for this right now (or in the near/foreseeable future). Of course, anyone who wants is welcome to take on the task... ;)

Returned from Star Party: Thanks to Oberlus

#145 Post by JonCST »

Hi all. I have indeed returned from the Star Party, and am ready to ruin, er, resume control over the empire with which i was entrusted.

Thanks to Oberlus for keeping the game moving during my absence.

They appear to be winning the battle by a small margin.

Doh!
Come on! Must be a joke.
TSO had... damnit, can't remember the right numbers, but both fleets had similar number of shots, similar number of damage per shot (shields accounted), plus JonCST had like +250% more fighters, plasma ones! (dunno if TSO's were plasma as well). So it was something like 1000 vs 500 total damage per combat, and JonCST had more total structure. How could not be a win for TSO!?
Oh, now I get it... the friking comsats!!!
