3-D combat simulation?

#1 Post by mcturky »

was just wondering as i don't quite understand what has been put on the update page. Is the 3-D combat thing up and running with this new update, or will it be in the next update, 1.0?? i've trimmed out all the stuff from the original source to just leave the stuff about the combat.

cheers for the help

Currently Under Development

I was wondering that same thing just a few days ago. Check this thread out. I add all my small questions on it...

i found this...about half way down one of his "problems" was the lack of visual/controlled combat or something like that, and then they explain that it's being worked on, but i couldn't see a time frame...perhaps i missed it as i was skim reading.

a) Some better explanation of the mechanics of the combat system for both ship-ship, and ship-ground. Both have a number of different options, which, even after playing, I still don't understand. (E.g. why doesn't a weak, highly stealthy, but heavily armed ship get a surprise attack and win?)
Stealth and speed do nothing right now, as combat is a work in progress.
There will be a fully interactive 2.5D combat system later on.

1.0 isn't the next update. That's the finish line.

We don't have much time currently from developers able to advance the 3D combat, so that part is pretty much on hold.
Sorry, it's not possible to give an estimate on completion.
