I didn't really like the glowing, but solid look, so I tried something else. I think it works better.

What's that thing in the corner? A pet?

Well while we are on the topic of pets...

They're good, but you might want to look at the face again, it seem a little... maybe slackjawed?

The thing in the corner is just a joke and was a result of testing different techniques. Awesome guinea pigs Josh, one of the cutest creatures for sure. You've captured their attitude very well and I realize once more, that I need to make more of such studies :)

edit: Urban Dictionary has it covered, I don't see how this applies here though. I wouldn't even know how to draw this expression(even if I had facial features to work with).

That's an oddly specific definition and not what I had in mind, Its hard to say exactly what vibe I'm getting, its sort of like is staring vacently with its mouth wide open.

It might help to mention that to me the "face" triangle looks entirely like a big mouth.

I've done some form/building studies to find a form language that suits the Trith. I was trying to find something that is elegant and yet aggressive. The ones I believe are most successful are enlarged and marked with a green dot.

Notice how the dotted two in the top row reverse the direction of their tilt about half way up? Am I over thinking things or would it be a good idea to make that a common element to Trith design?

Overall really good design, fits your stated aims perfectly :)

I like how the buildings distantly reflect the anatomy of the Trith. I like the one in the bottom right corner best, hits the spot for me.

I decided to go over the Trith again, because I didn't really explore different variations in the beginning. I focused on the body silhouette and torso shapes, trying to get a mix of aggressiveness, elegance and advancement.

I like the one in the middle.

The middile one is my favorite as well, has a hooded figure feel to it.

To me, that one looks like a Protoss. The guys on the right seem in need of therapy (they look really depressed).
I like the alien on the left, but I prefered the old look. The new ones remind me of ghosts...

I've been refining the previous form studies and have tried to develop a design language(formlanguage + materials, colors, etc). The first design I had marked wasn't satisfying and I'm going to try the third one next. I think I'm getting close...
