AFAIK snap refreshes only at the command "snap refresh".

Also, we're playing with "Low Specials", right ?
Which means that with an Imperial Palace bonus of +3, the player with a Luxury nearby (and/or Artistic species) will win while the others will struggle to colonize more than a few planets.

I really recommend putting the Imperial Palace bonus to +7 to limit the importance of initial luck.

Not on my machine - also defeats one purpose of snap i think (which is having software on the current patch level).
But all players using snap have only manual updates, that's fine. Just give me a buzz if you need something.
Any code or patches in anything posted here is released under the CC and GPL licences in use for the FO project.

I'm expecting the game to be fairly unbalanced at the moment, just the price of playing master instead of release. My prediction is some experienced players doing terribly due to misunderstandings about how the new mechanics work.

I'll be playing mostly for testing stuff, barely to show off (I surely will fail misserably) or kick presumptuous asses.

Indeed, at least when I can avoid it.
