Hello! I've played plenty of games already, some people here can confirmOberlus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 2:16 pmHi Querens, and welcome to the forums.
Have you experience playing FreeOrion? If not, you should play a few games against AI, because this game will be free diplomacy (no fixed teams), and a player without experience will have a hard time surviving in the short run.

Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
Short update:
FIGHTERS
Fighters ignore shields. All fighters have 1 HP and die on first impact. The bout (combat round) in which they are launched they won't shoot and can't be targetted. The tech upgrades apply to already built ships so the fighters you mount early game will still be competitive end game.
There are several types differenced in number and valid targets:
- Interceptors: 3 per hangar (+1 per fighter tech level), launch 3 per bay (+1 per fighter tech level). Targets other fighters.
For all other fighters, each bay can launch 2 fighters per bout and tech upgrades up their damage (total damage per hangar is constant, so 3 strikers do as much damage as 1 heavy bomber).
- Strike fighters (strikers): 3 per hangar, target fighters and ships.
- Bombers: 2 per hangar, target ships.
- Heavy bombers: 1 per hangar, target ships and planets.
So interceptors are PD and smokescreen to defend other types of fighters.
Strikers are multi-role: PD, some smokescreen and anti-ship.
Bombers are focused on ships.
Heavy bombers the less interesting against chaff/small ships, and the most easily countered with PD, but can also target planets and take less external slots for same damage output.
ARC DISRUPTOR
3-shot weapon that targets anything. It is the only weapon (so far) that is not affected by species pilot trait.
Like fighters, the tech upgrades apply to already built ships so the arc disruptors you mount early game will still be competitive end game.
Starts at 2 damage per shot, second upgrade makes it 4 per shot, third (and last) upgrade makes it 7 per shot. 40 PPs (same as a plasma cannon).
Great against unshielded chaff. But it is hard-countered by shields, so it is a good idea to combine them with anti-ship fighters.
IMPERIAL STOCKPILE (IS)
Unused PP do not go to waste anymore, the go to the IS. You can extract a small amount of PP from the IS each turn, not bound to supply groups (so can be used for distributed/disconnected expansion).
Good or Great Stockpile species can make efficient use of it, with the help of the early stockpile techs. Other species can get little use from it until end game with all stockpile techs and some planetary focus set to stockpile.
SLY
Gaseous species that inhabits GGs. All other planetary environments are hostile for them. They are the best species to go for distributed hidden empires, relying on their great stockpile and great planetary stealth. Universe generation is not tailored for them and there is some small chances that they get a crappy start. I don't have MP experience with them, but against AI they pwn because AI doesn't cope well with hidden empires.
Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
As the game is teamless, i think only one empire should be able to win.

No. I would prefer only one empire being able to win.

Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
o01eg, what if we make it fixed teams to test your PR?
If no one is against that, ofc.

Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
So I guess we better play as planned.
I'm glad with the victory for maximum 2 players.
EAGER to start. I hope RNG gods doens't send me through the Gateway to the Void this time...

Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
I can participate in case of fixed teams. The lack of monsters saddens me.
