The cap was raised recently from 500 to 5000, I'm not sure if it was before the 0.4.2 release or after. Anyway, try the 500 system setting again to see if that works with rev 5983 (that is, if it doesn't crash at turn 3).Malakh wrote: Only reason why I used 500 systems the first time around was because I was using the stable build. I think it's capped at 500?

No problems now. I have been regularly playing (and losing) at 400+ systems with 20 AIs. Will try to generate a 5,000 system game again soon.
Re: v0.4.2 (5983) - Windows 8
Sucess! I played a 5,000 system, 20 AI game. As expected it is really, really slow.
I am regularly playing 630 system, 20 AI games with no trouble.

The game slows down considerably once you hit Turn 500+ even with only 4 AIs.
Some notes:
Some notes:
- Solar hulls -- It needs to be highlighted that to build solar hulls requires that it has to be built in a system with a black hole. It took me a while to figure it out and then I had to get a system with a red star to turn into a black hole.
- Monsters -- Monsters tend to overwhelm the game around Turn 400+ when the Black Kracken, et al. start wandering around. Is this a feature?
- Transcendence -- Once you have researched Transcendence you win the game, but there is only the sitrep note and no announcement nor an option to end the game at that point.

Test Build 5995
I was playing the game using 3 AIs and 120 systems when the game crashed. The game was lagging badly at the time. Attached are the logs.
Will be downloading and installing the new test build (6012) later.

What were you doing at the time? The client log has an obscure GG exception about drag-dropping.Malakh wrote:...the game crashed. The game was lagging badly at the time. Attached are the logs.

If I remember right I was moving some ships from a fleet to make a new fleet.Geoff the Medio wrote:What were you doing at the time? The client log has an obscure GG exception about drag-dropping.Malakh wrote:...the game crashed. The game was lagging badly at the time. Attached are the logs.

I had that exact same thing happen to me last week. I had accidentally released the mousebutton prior to where I wanted; the message was about an invalid drop target. I was unable to get it to repeat. I wasn't having any particular lag at the time, iirc.Malakh wrote:If I remember right I was moving some ships from a fleet to make a new fleet.
If I provided any code, scripts or other content here, it's released under GPL 2.0 and CC-BY-SA 3.0

Sounds like one I had with an earlier version. Wasn't able to repeat it through.Malakh wrote:If I remember right I was moving some ships from a fleet to make a new fleet.Geoff the Medio wrote:What were you doing at the time?
