Design screen updates transfer to production immidiatelly

#1 Post by ThinkSome »

I will let an image demonstrate how horrible this is. What I did was went into design screen and addded a cheap part to rock SYMB chaff design:

The 4 erroneous (we'll get there https://freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=11635) items before:
The attachment design_prod.png is no longer available

Not only will a 4-turn item now complete in a single turn, the game also added two new items to the production queue!

I will repeat that changes in the ship designer should never change what is in production.

Is one of the screenshots missing?

This is serious indeed. I'll find time to recreate it in a single player game to open an issue in github.

No, that's the forum being bugged.

Is one of the screenshots missing due to a forum bug?

No, they are both here. I just had to make another post to post the second image.

It gets weirder:

Click on one of the designs being built, change hull, add new design with original name.

Not only are there now 2 designs with the same name, the game inserted a totally unrelated design into the production queue.

I can not reproduce this. Changing an existing design or adding a new design with the same name does not change the contents of the build queue in any way for me.

I remade those designs in the queue, paused all the erroneous ones, queued up the new designs and disconnected. Now the queue has 5 other random designs in place of those that I ordered.

You sure you are using same version than server?

OP with with-FreeOrionSDK-v11-335-gb2112feb2

The 4-turn-item-completing-in-a-single-turn bug is still there in with-FreeOrionSDK-v11-356-ge978c5e27

Are you compiling yourself or using one of the sourceforge versions? If others cannot reproduce I suspect your toolchain.

I'm self-compiling.
o01eg wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 6:53 pm Also it will be nice if ThinkSome could provide client's logs (but it suppose he cleared them by restarting client).
Where can I find these logs? I suppose I can keep retrying, but I'm not comfortable doing that if pressing the ready button will take us all into next turn (there must be at least one other that hasn't pressed it yet).
