Ship and Tech Build Guide

Hey all, started playing this 2 days ago and having a lot of fun. There was plenty of info out there on how to play the game (Quick start guide) but liitle to help get your empire to a good start. Please point me in the right direction if this info is posted some where. If not, it would be very helpful to have a beginners guide that outlines the easiest race to play and the first tech and ships to build to Que and maybe a general plan to aim for.
It doesn't have to be a guide aimed at pro players but handy guide for new players to send them on the right direction maybe upto turn 30 or 50, seems when you start getting in trouble.
Anyway I hope there is one you guys can link me to.
