Just wanted to say thanks

#1 Post by dstjames »

I just wanted to thank everyone who is putting in so much effort on this project. I have been a long time lurker and havent posted a lot since I am not a programmer or artist.

I just downloaded version 0.2 though and it looks very nice. There are a few bugs and obviosly needs a lot more work, but for such an early release it looks very good. At the rate this is going I think this is going to me a big success. I wondered at the beginning because you see so many of these types of projects start up and then fizzle out.

Good job so far!

I just downloaded 0.2 and it is awesome!!! Even with all the stuff
still remaining to be done, the graphics and user interface are
all quite solid.

Congratulations to the whole development team. I can hardly
imagine 0.3. FreeOrion is truly a beautiful game.

Actually, I've ben wanting to download it, but how big is it (roughly)?

I exhausted a lot of my download limit earlier this month trying to get Linux (in the end it didn't seem to approve of my wireless network, but I'll try again later).

*is left to play with his Moo2*

I'm definitely looking forward to FreeOrion. I hope we can turn it into the game Moo3 wasn't!

And then we can release a version on the X-Box 360. (It could happen. :P )

Heh. I didn't think to look there. I searched the Wiki, expecting it'd be next to the links there. ^_^;;

Thanks.

No, it won't happen. freeOrion is using OpenGL and the XBox is using DirectX.

Furthermore, developing games for the XBox without a license from MS is illegal (that same goes for PS, Nintendo, etc.)
