Starlanes disappearing during game play

#1 Post by fungiant »

There is a specific map that has starlanes disappear on the second turn. The star map can be duplicated by setting the following:
  • Systems: 140
    Galaxy shape: Cluster
    Galaxy age: Young
    Starlane frequency: Low
    Planet density: Medium
    Specials frequency: Low
    Monster frequency: Medium
    Native frequency: Medium
    Max AI aggression: Maniacal
    Starting species: Super-Tester
    Number of AI players: 5
In the lower left quadrant, starlanes have disappeared, and the species is Super-Tester. If your starting species is not not super-tester, then build the Super-Tester Takeover building, and then by turn 3, you should see the star map with the starlanes missing. I tried this with SVN 5670, 5642, and 5620. I don't know what to do to fix this. I just wanted to make a report. :-)

It appears to be working correctly, at least in the game engine. An Experimentor monster fleet is created, which adds the Expimentor species and and Experimentor outpost to a planet, which removes nearby starlanes.
