3D Combat simulation??

how do i get the 3D combat simulation thing?? on a list of the updates it says that i need to launch freeorion as "freeorion-combat--demo" or something like that, but i really dont understand what this means. can someone please point me in the right direction

Run "freeorion --tech-demo" from a command-line. Don't expect much though; it's not a working combat system, and just demos some 3D rendering.

so when is the 3d combat thing up and running, cos it says on the updates from about a year ago about them working on it. Does anyone know when they will release it??

No. As far as I know, that part of the game has not been actively developed since then.
