On Linux in Windowed mode, is there a key combination that will release the mouse so that I can take it out of the window while playing? Is there a configuration option I am missing?

There are some settings in OISInput.cfg in the main FreeOrion directory that deal with this. The default relevant setting is x11_mouse_grab=false so if that doesn't work for you, I don't know what else to setting changing...

That was it - I needed to copy that file to /usr/local where the binary is living. I may need to rethink where I put things...
