Does anyone have a current list of the tech tree? Shouldn't you at least have an attempt to write down what the intent of all the components are?
I can't find the damn shields. There's no application under ships that seems to match...

The tech tree in v0.3.14 is incomplete and unbalanced, and is not meant to be playable and fun. It currently lacks any parts that give shields to ships. This isn't really much of a problem, since there's not much point to ship combat and thus shields in the current build... It's still being coded.
There's no list of all the techs on the tree outside of the game, as this changes occasionally as game systems are modified to allow such changes. The game itself provides a list, in the form of the tech tree, and the not-very-useful tech list that can be switched to from the tech tree using the view controls.

The game does, it's a very neat interface for the technology tree.
But one would expect there to be a blueprint of how it /should/ work. And the shield component is in the game, hence asking where it is on the tree.
I'll stop looking for it in the current build of the game, then ^-^

lol, one would expect....but as geoff says, this hasnt really been worked on yet, the tech tree is mostly made up of interesting, thought provoking concepts, some of them give buildings though, and they say so if they do
