Recent Windows Builds

Re: Recent Windows Builds
Hm... and if I just pulled the default from the SVN and pasted it into my FO folder, would it work?
Alternately, there's no instructions on using cmake...

Re: Recent Windows Builds
Depends... in a lot of cases it will, but there may have been some changes to the code designed to enable more content scripting options that may be incompatible with older versions. You may as well give it a shot.Zireael wrote:Hm... and if I just pulled the default from the SVN and pasted it into my FO folder, would it work?
Warning: Antarans in dimensional portal are closer than they appear.

Re: Recent Windows Builds
You don't need CMake to build on Windows. Use the MSVC solution file in SVN with the Windows SDK.Zireael wrote:Alternately, there's no instructions on using cmake...
Re: Recent Windows Builds
Do I need the Visual C++ Compiler component? It's huge (600 MB) and it requires .NET Framework 4, which the installer for some reason says I don't have...Geoff the Medio wrote:You don't need CMake to build on Windows. EDIT: I got cmake. What generator should I use? And where should I put the dependencies?

Re: Recent Windows Builds
I don't know what that is specifically, but you need Visual Studio 2010 which includes a C++ compiler.Zireael wrote:Do I need the Visual C++ Compiler component?
You don't need CMake. Get the FreeOrion SDK from sourceforge, update SVN and use the included MSVC 2010 solution file. Everything is where it's expected within the SDK. See the wiki compile page for more explanation.EDIT: I got cmake. What generator should I use? And where should I put the dependencies?
Re: Recent Windows Builds
It's been almost a month since the last test build was posted on sourceforge. Anything good that's worthy of posting a new one yet?

Re: Recent Windows Builds
There hasn't been much code changes recently since I was travelling for a few weeks and have been otherwise busy, though a few issues with some condition evaluation were made. I might get around to making a new build this weekend, but most of the changes have been content-only.

Re: Recent Windows Builds
Release candidate builds for FreeOrion v0.4.1 have been uploaded to sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/freeori ... n%200.4.1/
We're mainly interested in major bugs or relatively minor content fixes like stringtable updates with these candidates.

Re: Recent Windows Builds
Are you going to post a news message on the FO main page like you did when the release candidates for 0.4 had been put up? So people who don't check the forums also take notice...Geoff the Medio wrote:Release candidate builds for FreeOrion v0.4.1 have been uploaded...
