Seventh game on the multiplayer slow game server (0.4.9)

As the current game is on its finish line I opening thread for the next game. Starting date: 9th January 2020 with test game starting after Release Candidate/weekly test build.

Planned changes:
  • 19 systems per player.
  • Galaxy shape: Ring
  • Specials: Low
  • Conceding won't touch empire assets.
Currently there are 7 registered players and there still time to register:

I'm sorry but I will skip this one. I'll be on holidays for 2 weeks starting on saturday, and also I want to put some time into developing again.

If we are 7 players, I guess we shall go for free diplomacy?

Chato should be nerfed https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/pull/2687 also it is better to decide what to do with viewtopic.php?p=98768#p98768 before new game.

Thank you, but as Vezzra said I think any of my suggestions are quite fundamental balance changes to population so probably need debating and modelling somewhere. Maybe game 8 ... ;-)

There was a pre-release test build on the 6th. Is that the one we'll be using for this game?

Yes, I'm preparing test game for it now. Schedule will be a shifted a little.

If this is how 7th game will end, I want to ally swaq.


BTW, I like the ring shape.
If you take a look at the map, there are plenty of places to set up two (or three) chokepoints to block pass, so most empires could turttle by concentrating forces in four systems (two on each side of his ring sector), and alliances of two empires next to each other would need two chokepoints per empire.
Also, it makes difficult or impossible that more than two empires attack the same empire. I hope this shape will improve "fairness" in the game for both single and team playstyles.

Have you contacted them directly about the test game and have you got an answer? I expect them (or at least Magnate) to not have visited the forums in the recent days.
