Maintenance Ships and a Sentinal.
And Hydros Alpha was not suitable without a lot of help.
I did manage to destroy them all. It took me until about
turn 70 to do it.
It will be tough. One of the AI's became dominant over
all the others and has a huge lead on me in everything.
It has huge Doom Stacks that could crush me, but as
usual it is being very cautious.

BTW, this is the fleet at Eros

If he had moved that fleet and attacked me I would have been able to do nothing about it.
Also Yellow's aggression level was 'Aggressive'. When I started attacking his rear, most of
that fleet sat there the whole rest of the game.

Never rename your home system: it brings BAD LUCK!

(Plus, Eos is Greek for "dawn" - should have been a good omen) 8)

This was possible because (with apologies to the AI team) the AI players
are not very smart.
It reminds me of the 'Risk' games I played against the computer many many
years ago. I won games I had no business winning because the computer
didn't finish me off when it had the chance.

BTW, is game playing feedback like this useful at all?
Or is game playing recaps just boring to others?

Personally I find them interesting in small doses, it's always nice to see how other people play and what their priorities are.

eg: there are two native homeworlds close to your capital unconquered, while I don't know what the pile of read monsters blocking the route are getting past with something shouldn't be that hard so I'd have made sure they were mine.

But yeah, the AI is good against itself and can finish off other AIs but it's not so good at noticing you're horribly vulnerable and just storming in, which maniacal AIs should do more of I think. End game, either winning or losing, it's truly awful at, but you do sometimes get "capital captured" and even "empire defeated" sitreps that are nothing to do with you.

Well, if you notice those two worlds you are referring too were originally
not close to my Homeworld as I had to make a Starlane Bore to connect
Ex gamma to that empty space system. Same with Lyot gamma and
Lyot beta. So by the time I could access those systems they were way
low on my list of priorities. I used that route to attack Yellow into his rear
area. I could have gone through Haven beta, but I wanted to be as far from
the Doomstack at Eros alpha as possible.

edit;
Those two planets are Ancient Guardians on a tiny planet
and the worthless Lambala'lam. Nothing to obsess about.
