Improving Policy/Trait descriptions

#1 Post by wobbly »

I'm planning on going through all of them. For instance Environmentalism is missing the numbers in its description. 1st a question, Artistic's description doesn't match the effect correctly. Am I fixing the description? or the effect?

PLC_ARTISAN_WORKSHOPS_DESC
Planets with [[encyclopedia ARTISTIC]] species that are set to influence focus will generate influence and will export aesthetically pleasing crafts to planets in their system, boosting the stability of those planets.

That stability bonus does not require the policy.

ARTISAN_APPRECIATION
Likes Influence-Focused Artistic Species In System

Does not actually require Influence Focus.

If the writer wasn't a native English speaker, he may have believed that the "and" applied to "planets that are settled with artistic species" and not "planets that are set to Influence focus" ?
So I'd say fix the description, the Stability effect is quite weak anyway.

I think the writer was Geoff, who is a native English speaker.

I'll assume the effect is correct unless someone argues otherwise. Is there a git command/tool for finding the commit where a line of code was added?

I think the effect is a bit OP, got the impression one does need Artisan Workshops for big empires. But dunno if that is actually true or how to make it less powerful.
