Music for FO

#1 Post by Blade Runner »

I wrote a few music for games. Here they are:
http://www.redemptionblues.com/music/menu2.ogg
http://www.redemptionblues.com/music/scifi3.mp3
http://www.redemptionblues.com/music/med1.mp3
http://www.redemptionblues.com/music/Menuscore.mp3
If you like any of them you can use it. If you need more, I can compose some additional pieces in that style.

Great stuff! I like them all.

menu2.ogg: For my taste the kicks/drums(?) are a bit too hard, but it's still very nice.

scifi3.mp3, Menuscore.mp3 & med1.mp3: My favourite is scifi3, but the others are neat too. I can clearly imagine 3 different kinds of races, when listening to those.

Good work, keep it comming! :)

I can rearrange the menu2.ogg. I will delete the drum track, so it will be kinda "floating" style. :))

I like it. Are we allowed to use it in Fatal Universe too? :)

Yeah... :) I think it will be even better, if you write down what kind of music would you like (ambient, heavy, slow, quick etc.) and I will send you a few sample.

I like the sound design or 'soundscapes', pretty cool stuff.

Menuscore - would be a great 'Alien Sound' for a diplomacy screen.

med1 - sounds almost 'renaissance', again maybe cool for a certain Race.

menu2nodrums - is cool, I like the changes. a good fit for this type of game for even an ambient track.

scifi - it'd be good for a race/diplom etc...

'med1' STRONGLY reminds me of MOO2 Alkari diplomacy. Anyone else think so? Just curious. :) Not that that's a bad thing, I actually like it a lot. Could stand to be a little longer slash less repetative is all.

Menu2 is great, reminds me of Blade Runner (I guess you chose that name for a reason hehe), only complaint is I wish the snare/hihat percussion was, umm... better. Heh. Sorry if I'm not being very helpful.

No comments on the other two at the moment.

Edit -- Missed the nodrums version. Woops. I dunno I still think it could work with percussion; try what I greatly overuse, timpani's. :)

Just a note: we need music in .ogg format, not .mp3

Of course we can convert mp3 -> ogg but this results in loss of quality. So, if you can reencode from the originals, it would be much better.

Yoghurt,
My system crashed a few months ago and I digged out the last 3 files (the MP3 files) from my system, but I lost the original composition files. :( If you would like to use them you can convert them to .ogg, but I cannot use the original (now missing) files to do it.

LithiumMongoose,
I composed med1 for a freeware medieval fantasy TBS, but they never contacted me back again. :( If its similar to MOO2 it must be a coincidence, I played MOO2 a few years ago, but I cannot remember what kind of music they use in it. :) I can try to put some percussion into Menu2, I will see if it will be better with it. :)
