Icons Requests
Re: Icons Requests
How about this for Object?
Now this one I didn't create (drew a chest but didn't look all that great), sourced under a free to use license (no copyright or usage restrictions).

Re: Icons Requests
Previous graphics in this thread are either too complicatedly detailed for the size and/or too dark for the context. Except last one-- the moderator eye. That's a clean design, but the eye symbol is used in several other places, and since we have moderators AND observers as special status for "players" they eye seems much more apt for observers.
I've made new icons for the sit-rep, research and production.
Basic idea:
regular: greyscale + darker
Active/mouse-over: color
Clicked: color + 5 pix glow
The above pattern wouldn't work everywhere, but i think works here. I will try to do the other icons up there soon.
Sorry, i haven't been around much. I have an app that i've been working on for a year coming near completion, and with that and regular life-- i sometimes have time, but seldom have room left in my brain for something as complex as FO. This state of affairs will probably continue through the summer.
Attached is also some of the PSDs for my glossy icons. Much of it is driven by some effects, which can be easily applied to other icons after changing the colors.
EDIT: svn issues at the moment prevent committing.

Well, can brighten up easily enough or make other adjustments. Was just throwing the basic idea out there to see what people might like, or like to modify.eleazar wrote:Previous graphics in this thread are either too complicatedly detailed for the size and/or too dark for the context. Well, good to know - as long as you will come back I admit I've been starting to get worried...eleazar wrote:Sorry, i haven't been around much. Re: Icons Requests
No... It was just something to represent generic objects other than a featureless circle. It was originally used as the generic object icon within the objects list, where it was shown much smaller.eleazar wrote:Is there a significance the the objects "C" shape?
Re: Icons Requests
Ok, here's one with just a triangle and a compass. To represent the tools used to design something. (A wrench would be used for building not designing...)
The compass doesn't show up the best, but should be able to get the idea (and it showed up better then the T-Square at that size).

Re: Icons Requests
This is supposed to represent bombardment. It would be nice if it was updated to be decent looking, similar to the colonizing and invading icons.

Re: Icons Requests
The single bomb version is better, but the top bit's a bit too big, I think...
