Re: Some UI tweak suggestions
I hope no-one minds if I add some other points here - RL issues mean I haven't posted here for a long time & I'm not certain of current forum etiquette. To begin, I am very impressed by the progress, echoing wheal's comments & more. Just one example - opening one of the recent versions &...

Re: Terraform Exobot colonies
Stars! had the "Claim Adjuster" race that, amongst other advantages, had robots that could terraform planets from orbit. A very powerful diplomatic tool because friendly races might expect a fleet of these to visit and terraform any of their planets towards the optimum for that race (exten...

Re: I'm back, and it looks like so is an old bug
@Dilvish Thanks for the reply. I will file a request, probably tomorrow as I have supper guests arriving soon. I wasn't thinking about the invade/don't invade (although that might be easiest to code?), more the attack/hide button on armed ships; bombers in 'hide' mode would not be counted in 'bombs-...

Re: I'm back, and it looks like so is an old bug
Thanks LGM-Doyle; save-game issue pretty much as I expected. Last two releases crash on start-up (info posted in Support forum), yet I'm not discouraged. Far from it, the game runs generally smoothly and bug-free and the recent developments - bombs, more races etc - really add greatly to the game pl...

Crash to desktop on starting, current and preceding version
Latest version - FreeOrion_2017-03-07.efca927_Test_Win32_BinariesOnly - and it;s immediate predecessor crash almost immediately on starting up. Both windows appear, lots of text scrolls very rapidly in the text (secondary) window then both close. Win 7 Pro 64 SP1, i3770K at stock 63.5 GHz, 16 GB 213...

I'm back, and it looks like so is an old bug
Apologies for the long gap; I have been really rather ill for most of the last year. I've downloaded several of the most recent builds and all fail either to load a save game successfully or to start a new one. The error is "ERROR: Python AI for AI_ n crashed" where "n" is the nu...

Re: Bugged or a systematic AI 'cheat'? - core techs missing
Hi Apologies for the delay in responding; I have been really rather ill. Thank you all for the replies. I won't go into all of them, merely to say that as far as my system is concerned no recent build of FO functions correctly. For example re the mass driver issue in the dev build: MatGb says there ...

Re: Bugged or a systematic AI 'cheat'? - core techs missing
Hi. I had already decided to make some screen shots before logging on this morning. I made screenshots of the early techs in normal display mode, and a set which show all techs in list mode. I don't intend to quibble about exact names or differences between 'tech' and 'building', it's a distraction ...

@TheSilent One:
Those are excellent. Did you also make the ship images in the latest test build?
Cheers

Re: Bugged or a systematic AI 'cheat'? - core techs missing
I am sure, despite possible minor mis-remembering of exact names. I'm hardly the village idiot  The robotic tech tree goes pretty much like: robotic automation > military robotic control > robotic hull. The latter is always missing (and a couple of times MRC was missing also). Asteroid process...

Re: Bugged or a systematic AI 'cheat'? - core techs missing
Thank you all very much for the replies. There are no techs deliberately missing, nor does the AI use any cheats, at all, by deliberate design. I am hugely pleased to learn that :D I do understand about the tech tree - when I set it to list mode to search, I always set it to display all including 'l...

Bugged or a systematic AI 'cheat'? - core techs missing.
Version: FreeOrion_v0.4.5_2015-09-01.f203162_Test_Win32 Hi New FO player; played MOO3 SP for a few weeks soon after it was released, then, in disgust, melted the disk in the microwave when I discovered how AI cheating was so core to the game. Went back to "Stars!". I did look at Free Orion...
