Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Oh Malin, yes that was Dany's jewel in the crown. Very nice. He quit when I managed to take 4 of the 5 in one turn... (I waited for advanced troop pods to do it)

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Oooh interesting. I'm up for that if Hyp wants to! On starts, I don't know whose start wobbly is describing - both his and my starting systems had only our homeworlds. My start was not especially good but when Hyp and I exchanged species I suddenly had much more potential because I had a lot of Barr...

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Holy Lord, I've just seen Oberlus's starting system - I don't think I've ever seen one this good - it beats the one L29Ah had in the game he won. Nice!

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Besides, I have a ringside seat for Oberlus Doomstack Meets Pirate Doomstack, and I want to see what happens!

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Yes, like un-nerfing Good Pilots!
Any chance we can get a quick fix for conceded empires before that release? Even if we just kept the troops artificially at pre-concede levels (if it's too hard to implement tech retention), that would make a big difference.

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
My suggestion for an even simpler post-concede AI was to switch all planets to defence focus, which would leave an almost negligible number of PP and RP to worry about...
I think keeping the techs is perhaps the most important.

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
I see Oleg is going scorched earth - concentration camps. It means I need to rebuild the colonies but it saves me a lot in troop ships, so swings and roundabouts I guess - now that conquered colonies take five turns to start accumulating PP the difference is much less than before and the value of ev...

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Two more observations while I remember: 1. The snowballing nerf, which is excellent, has rendered force-energy structures pointless - you don't really need to invest in it because your PP and RP grow so slowly. My suggestion is to make it much cheaper and quicker to research but only increase meter ...

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
I think the ring shape was considered fairest because each player has two neighbours - which tends to mean ally on one side and war on the other. I got lucky this game because Danny focused on wobbly and ignored me. though it did make for a very boring first 70 turns or so. Other galaxy shapes are m...

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
I have absolutely no idea whether I can compete with Oberlus or Oleg - it will be interesting to see! I got to see 80% of your planets. You have more production and more research than me. Indeed it will be interesting! In which case it will all come down to how quickly you can take his remaining pl...

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Interesting - this game seems to have a smoother elimination curve than previous games (which have sort of had almost everyone hanging in there and then bam, it's all over). Even at this stage I have absolutely no idea whether I can compete with Oberlus or Oleg - it will be interesting to see!

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
Meanwhile, at the other end of the galaxy, the insects launched an audacious push for the fallen Scylior homeworld, Athens. It worked brilliantly - they lured us out one jump too far in an expert game of cat and mouse, sent their troop ships round the back and used their monstrous kraken to prevent ...

Who are we waiting for? Maybe me. I'm in the beach until 2100 CET. At the risk of giving unsolicited advice, you might like to know that "on the beach" means you're literally sitting or standing on the sand, while "at the beach" means you have line of sight to the sand, but may ...

I hadn't realised that it was switching off the info leakage that caused the weapon damage numbers to show incorrectly. We definitely want one but not the other!

Re: Eleventh game on the multiplayer slow game server
It wasn't wild in the sense that it was accessible by road so yes you could carry lots of kit in your car. There was also running hot and cold water for showers and washing (as well as nearby rivers to swim in). But there were no flushing toilets, only composting toilets - so a bit more wild than a ...
