Re: Twenty-sixth game on the multiplayer slow game server
OK, next turn we try at Sera alpha (I'll annex Sera alpha asteroids, drkosy please don't annex anything). Once we've done testing there we can end the game. o01eg can you prepare a small warship there ? That would allow to test similar conditions than what happened at Izsm (a lost fight where the lo...

They are, but in wargames there are usually way less choke points than it FreeOrion.

Re: Twenty-sixth game on the multiplayer slow game server
Well, drkosy did invade Nay gamma, but that's an occasion to test : o01eg, can you try annexing Nay gamma II ?
It would be very surprising that you could, but what happened at Izsm was also very surprising...
Also, please try reannexing Sera delta I (and drkosy, please don't invade it).

Re: Buff Construction Research Realm
Are you saying it is mandatory to pick that tech from start? Ooh weeee, that would be bad design and require a redesign, isn't it? That's actually a valid point. The way Policies work now, it's clearly important to get as many slots as you can. With the cost of Interstellar Infrastructure, there's ...

Re: Twenty-sixth game on the multiplayer slow game server
Oberlus, You wrote on the chat : Oberlus: What's the point of invading the planet if you wanted to test something about anexation? We wanted to test annexation on multi-planet systems. So, in order to bring some Supply there, while sparing our Influence so that we can actually test the annexation wh...

Re: Planet Specials
Good question.
Copying Wikipedia is entirely legal, as long as it is cited.
Probably citing which text comes from Wikipedia in the credits part of FO should be enough.

Re: Twenty-sixth game on the multiplayer slow game server
Once my fleet is crushed I'll concede. Please don't, or retreat behind Bocas delta. The goal is to test if we can reproduce the Annexation bugs in the multi-planet system. BTW, who are the devs who work on that ? It would be nice to have them tell us if there is something specific we need to test.

Re: Buff Construction Research Realm
As an alternative unlock you mean ?
Interesting idea indeed...
Except for the Planetary Infrastructure, it should still be unlocked at start.
So maybe System by Asymptotic Materials and Interstellar by Architectural Monofilaments ?

Re: Military stealth
That's not a minor change, making them upgradable completely changes the mechanism...
As of now the full concept is that one has to use their stealthy ships before the enemy gets higher detection.

I didn't write "in-system"...
The fluff would be that a major engineering project like the first Space Elevator gives enough practical knowledge and innovation to use what has been learned in other orbital constructions.

Re: More snap questions
Snap is an eldritch horror designed to bring Windows' stability and reliability to Linux... So AFAIK no, you can't edit the snap files. But you can in FreeOrion point the "directories" to a local copy of the FOCS files (if that's what you want to edit), and it works fine (you just need to ...

Re: Research Upkeep
I've come up with a better idea, to prevent the "research all techs at endgame because they're cheap anyway", without using a Research upkeep mechanism (that I really hate) : Research Policies . Either as a new type of Policy Slots, or as Economic, Social and Military policies. Each of the...

Ocean diving ships are junk Creideiki finds your lack of faith disturbing. Tho maybe I am biased Well, you admitted (in MP, I hope that I'm not betraying anything there ?) to not being thrilled by strategy and that you find your fun in finding ways to produce 3X more ships than your enemy, rather t...
