Re: Version .3 Buildings, Research, and such

http://home.earthlink.net/~drekmonger/Buildv3/BuildQ.htm Tzlaine's global build queue, the nuts and bolts codified. Should reserve fleets be local to a specific shipyard or global to the entire empire? I see advantages to both methods. While I can live with global production (i.e. putting all plane...

I think we should be able to change a focus. So that you could make a farming world into an industry world. It would invlove alot of tearing down of builfings, but that's the sacrifice we have to make. Sure, but without tearing down the buildings of the previous focus, you'd have another choi...

"Buildings are cool" ;) I think we should have buildings, in general. Most people are familiar with buildings, and buildings add to immersion too. I alwas liked the planet/city view screen in games like MoO2 or Civilization. And I really missed that in MoO3. They got boring especially in ...

The artwork and music has thus far fallen under the creative commons licence. Anyone can use FO media, even for commerical purposes, without asking, so long as they credit the author. That's exactly what I don't like about it. I don't mind if people copy my music or use it for non-commercial purpos...

I think if you set a ship to go into reserves, then they should just start flying back to a world with a shipyard. Oh, want to change your mind, then just tell the ship to move somewhere else, maybe back to where it was. I like that idea. So you have a whole lot of ships building and in reserves. A...

So there's only a few worlds capable of producing a death star, or there's only a few shipyards that can. My point is, what's the difference? There's your answer: It gets built at "one of" the shipyards, but the particular one is abstracted out of the system. That's the problem, and makes...

Sound/Music "License"?

Hi, I've been lurking on the forum for about a year, and intended to help with programming. But since I stll haven't had the time to learn C++, I thought I might do something useful in the meantime, make some music for example ;) But first I'd like to know what the legal aspects are when I contribut...

I'd like to have a spy system that just lets you to allocate an amount of ressources (probably money) to intelligence, which affects your overall intelligence strength. It doesn't "stackpile", it's just like maintenance. You don't have to invest ressources for training spies, but there sho...

to drek: In FO, we'd tend to choose the the approach that's more fun. I completely agree with this, but out of two approaches that are both fun, the more realistic/intuitive/natural one is alwas better. The decision would be where to build expensive shipyards. On the frontier where it's vunlnerable...

I really like the idea of "diplomatic spy" reports, which help you choose the right emphasis for a diplomatic action. Would add a nice way for using spies. I also like the "diplomatic treaty" idea, but that could be made an automatical side effect of good relations/long lasting a...
