I'm with the fish. I think that we should have some much-needed shortcuts, like when you get terraforming in Moo2 it would have been nice to be able to say "Ok, supercede all production on every planet that can terraform, just long enough to terraform, then go about your previous business."...

Well, if we have the server and 10 AI clients running on the same machine, we could have a problem. The server would eat 40M And if each client empire had, say, 30K ships, we're looking at minimum 3M per client, in addition to any ships they're storing that belong to others, (say 1000 per rival emp...

any requests for colors, look, etc?
It would be nice if it somehow resembled the main map colors scheme in the game.

However, I do like the idea of colonizing, or at least utilizing gas giants and asteroid belts long before they can be converted into habitable planets (if they ever can).

FYI, ogg is the format for all music that the programming team has settled on. Sound effects can be wav or ogg.

Edit: Also, we have 100MB of web space for our project as Sourceforge. I'm going to keep saying this until someone listens. :?

In any case the Empires will have to keep a set of designs, whether there are refits or not (so that ship designs don't have to be recreated each time a player wants to issue a build order). And looking more closely at at Zach's comments in the code, I think he was anticipating that this would be t...

In Burndaddy's collaboration site, I've posted a psd containing some nebulas. The better looking three are set against a star field. The other three have alpha channels. I made them before talking to burndaddy about his ideas for nebulas and starfields. I really like his idea of generating nebulas ...

I was thinking about the sourceforge thing myself. But those forums are often very sloooow. Maybe mutliple people can make and keep offline mirrors of the forums? You don't have to use the built-in forums on Sourceforge; I've set up a forum similar to this one in preparation for GG's migration to i...
