Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
Looks like I can't connect to the server. I get stuck at the lobby screen (can see the chat, but galaxy won't load after several minutes waiting). I'm using latest weekly test build, Windows. Last night I connected with previous version, after server had been updated. I was able to connect and play...

Re: Potential replacement of FOCS with Python
Then you are welcome to join the effort at MXE. Multiple people so far have told me that Python is hard to cross compile and that being the reason why MXE lacks Python support. The only Python-for-MXE project I had found, has heavily patched python 3.3 and even that is broken. It took me some time ...

Re: Potential replacement of FOCS with Python
I am interested in creating the c++ building types/species... via python. So it seems that is currently not possible. Does any of you pythonistas have experience with creating c data structures from python? Or would i need to provide an api like we have and expose that? Even if there was a way to c...

Re: Potential replacement of FOCS with Python
A bump here as oleg mentioned and adrian is working on something related. Given I have the content specified in python and I have the ability to understand what has to be done (by some binding or analysing the python file using python-ast) (how) can I create all game structures in the game via pyth...

Re: RFC: A single source for default values (FOCS, python, stringtables, backend)
The thing I asked geoff about was if macros get expanded recursively. Does not give access to game rule values or multipliers though. I did a web survey to find a language which supports what we need to bring FOCS, stringtables, backend and AI together. I found a lot of configuration languages like...

Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
The server was greatly updated: Fixed freeze caused by broken Oberlus'es connections. Fixed crash caused by L29Ah. Save happened after orders issued. Queued building and some other info hide from non-allied empires. New turn notification presence in chat. Last 2 players get notification about making...

Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
o01eg, I have the impression that when server is restarted the readiness status is reset (keeping the orders of players that already played their turn but not the ready status). I suggest to either save (and restore on reset) readiness status or resend the "new turn" notifications to all ...

Re: Tenth game on the multiplayer slow game server
some known good version that has all known bugs fixed. That is what called released version and updating server is a part of ensuring "all known bugs fixed". Wrong, updating server blindly to master also introduces new bugs. What you do is cherry-pick bugfixes. Then the next game will suf...
