Re: Linux Startup Segfault
You have development version of Mesa 7.10 with 965 chipset. According this there are lot of changes and there could be incompatibilities between driver, mesa, xorg and maybe something else.

Re: Won't run in Linux
Sorry. My mistake. I thought that r300 driver supports from r100 to r500 chipsets, but it only supports chipsets from r300 to r500 as said above. But it is possible to have OpenGL 2.1 on graphic card which supports only OpenGL 1.3 via software emulation, but it will be too slow. But according this c...

Re: Won't run in Linux
Radeon 7500 does not work with the fglrx binary driver, because ATI dropped support for it long time ago. However there is open source driver r300 and r300g for your graphic card. This drivers are not yet finished and hopefully will be fully functional in Ubuntu 11.04. But you may try not yet releas...

Re: Won't run in Linux
Currently your system support only OpenGL 1.3 which is problem in this case. However with fglrx driver you should have OpenGL at least 2.1 or higher if you have ATI HD graphic card and in Windows you don't have problem. Your fglrx driver is fighting your other driver. In /etc/X11/xorg.conf you shoul...

Re: Won't run in Linux
Try newest fglrx driver. If it doesn't help, then you have to wait for Ubuntu 11.04 for new ATI Gallium3D r300g or r600g driver. Currently there are known problems with ATI drivers on Linux. However ATI HD series does not have any problems on Windows with FreeOrion.

Re: Statically linked Linux-version
This version is for 32 bit version of Linux. I don't know if it was tested for 64bit version of Linux. You have probably have to compile it from svn.

Re: Some graphics and the mouse cursor are not shown properly
I have ATI Radeon 4530 and on Windows I have no problem with FreeOrion with Catalyst driver. On Linux there are problems with driver which will be hopefully in future probably resolved.

Re: Compile Errors (3339)
Linker ld(on Linux, on Mac OS X probably something similar) is in package binutils, which requires libc6, which is essential for gcc and for whole system. If you upgrade binutils, you should probably also upgrade all packages which depends on binutils which is also libc6 and gcc. And FreeOrion has k...

Re: Compile Errors (3339)
Problem is not in FreeOrion, but in gcc. I have gcc 4.3.4 and have no problem to compile 3339(with cmake). Try to upgrade from 4.0, but I don't know how in Mac OS X.

Re: Error compiling FreeOrion (build 3260)...
If you are using boost 1.39 or later, then there is bug in debian and probably also in ubuntu because there is missing symlink: /usr/lib/libboost_python-mt.so so to fix(under root in debian or use "sudo" under ubuntu): cd /usr/lib (sudo) ln -s libboost_python-mt-py25.so libboost_python-mt....
