Musical Scenes & Themes
"thus far I've been working under the assumption I would probably wind up supplying most of the music for the game." From http://www.freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5299#5299 Not sure if that post is still relevant or not, but I have an idea on how to involve the community in more of the writin...

Actually now that I think about it, a click/beep (of a certain pitch) probably would not be a good idea in the main game... I assume 'Artificial Intelligence' was written as ambient music for the actual game, not a game menu. The reason I think that now, as I played "Artificial Int." I was looking a...

this may be premature, but if you know the key of the piece of music that will be in a paticular background, you can create sfx (button clicks etc...) that fit harmonically. Like in StarCraft, in the menu system, they have that high pitch click/beep, and its a note that fits with the music. The othe...

I'm also going to inquire momentarily about getting a single music track into v0.2, in permanent background loop mode, for ambience. as far as looping it, will you put some dead space at the beginning and end of the track so there's a little break before it loops? how will it work? I had to do that...

don't confuse MIDI playback latency with controller latency. I think what guiguibaah was talking about was latency when entering notes with a keyboard or controller? I do think that would be the biggest problem. if there's a lag between the time you hit the key and the time you hear it, it could scr...

I like "Artificial Intelligence v2" a lot... it has a lot of great textures and it makes you feel like you are somewhere (other than your desk in front of a computer). "Encounter v2" is cool to. Very Combat-In-Moo1-esk except slower moving. The only thing I don't like is the choir ohs and ahs at the...

good stuff
I've been lurking on this board for a while now. This is my first post. I've been meaning to organize some of my music and post a link. I haven't had the time or the focus, but I hope to soon. Although the music will probably be decided and wrapped up by then. We'll see what happens. Guiguibaah, tho...
