Check out this thread . There's no measure to prevent this at the moment. Ultimately, I think it would be nice to have a universe setting to activate a "fractured" galaxy, a galaxy split into different parts. There could be a multitude of possibilities to overcome this: stargates, building...

I'm regularly relying on building up food and minerals and then switching focus to something else to increase my production/research meter and by doing so slowly depleting what has been stored. FreeOrion_Win32_3946.zip is available.
To update your default folder, either grab this tarball or specifically update to revision 3946.
If you haven't gotten the previous build, you'll have to get the the dll's from the July 17th SDK, either from sourceforge or from r3917.

It seems you have to hold position for the duration of 1 turn in a system, that is supplied with fuel, for a ship to fully recharge. I don't quite remember, if this is intentional.

Supply lines- It's a bit confusing to me now. It used to be wherever the blue lines where that was the extent of your supply line to keep ships refueled. But now that's not the case.
