Re: Issues compiling/running freeorion
Seems to me a problem that tzlaine mentioned: wrong headers/libs used for compiling/linking. If you use your own compiled boost, make sure there's no boost installed by your distribution, which are include-files taken from. I had a similar problem when compiling on ubuntu9.10, and that's one reason ...

I don't want a grouch (is that the right english word?), but your code could be better commented. This is extremely important for an open source.
That stuff looks great
Can I help with performace Tesings? I own some linux systems.

Re: v.3.13 Seg fault and GG::Font::BadFile exception
New feature: I released the debugging symbols on: http://freeorion.psitronic.de/download/nightly/ In the future, I will relase them with each binary release. Extract the files freeorion.dbg, freeoriond.dbg and freeorionca.dbg into the application directory, where the binaries are. If that dbg files ...

Re: v.3.13 Seg fault and GG::Font::BadFile exception
That may be why it is necessary for me to set the settings-dir variable and LD_LIBRARY_PATH by hand though - otherwise running the wrapper script and running the application in gdb produce different outputs. Now that I have manually set those variables I believe that I am accurately producing the s...

Re: Statically linked Linux-version
I still maintain it. But since there is not a great amount of new features, I don't compile a new version each week. Just have a look at http://freeorion.psitronic.de/download/nightly/ and sometimes there's a new version there :-) I saw that the current german translation in rev3388 has problems/mis...

Re: v.3.13 Seg fault and GG::Font::BadFile exception
The crash you now experience seems to be the ATI crash I was talking about. All your reportings before are strange to me. Which version of freeorion did you download and install? The 0.3.13 from Sourceforge, or a nightly build from my homepage? If you run freeorion by calling the freeorion script in...

Re: v.3.13 Seg fault and GG::Font::BadFile exception
Does /home/nathan/freeorion/default/DejaVuSans.ttf exist? As far as I can see you extracted FO in /home/nathan/freeorion, and this TTF file then should be in /home/nathan/freeorion/application/default/DejaVuSans.ttf - how did you install? Just extracted the archive or did you use the installer. You ...

Re: 0.3.13 tarbal segfaults on start up, ubutnu 9.04 w/opengl2
I'll compile a new version and will skip the --strip step, so that you can debug. But I don't think that will help a lot, seems to me like the common openGL problem we had before. /edit: can be downloaded on http://freeorion.psitronic.de/download/nightly/ . Choose the debug version of the latest one...

Maybe the Mac-guys could ship python with their package, similar to the linux version?

Re: segmentation fault when starting
You can always download ATI drivers for Debian x64 version from AMD homepage. Then your card should support opengl 2.0. The driver from ATI is called "fglrx". There are packages in Debian repositories to be installed on your system: $ apt-cache search fglrx xserver-xorg-video-radeon - X.Or...

Re: FreeOrion-0.3.13 won't launch on WinXP SP3
Did you have an old version of FreeOrion installed before 0.3.13? If so, delete the freeorion settings dir in your windows profile. I don't know exactly where this is located, but you may find other threats here in that forum that mention it.

Re: Can't build ships or research tech after multiple turns
Could it be the same problem as described in that other thread?
Means: if you activate a undiscovered star and then open the research screen, the enqueueing is not possible any more?

Here's an attent of fixing that problem, maybe someone with ATI graphic can figure that out:
