Re: Fiftteent game on the multiplayer slow game server

All Gysache worlds are shouting, screaming, crying, for joy. (the English expression "whoop for joy" is too dull.) The marauding fleet of looters that has been terroryzing Gysache and hiding within ion storms to avoid our forces was decimated not so long ago, and now the great Etty army with enslave...

Re: Online voice chat meeting, Monday March 29th 2021

Very short and incomplete (I had to leave before meeting was finished) briefing of the meeting regarding influence&stability, with later reflections of my own: Low stability won't cause a penalization on planet meters (percentage), but policies will have a minimum stability to apply, except those th...

I have a deadline tomorrow that I am struggling to meet. If I have finished by the meeting time today I'll join, otherwise I'll be sorry but absent.

Re: Rework pop. bonuses for Tall vs Wide and Terraforming

To make tall vs. wide this a strategic decision, adapting the numbers alone won't do. The tech tree must be disentangled so that players can actually concentrate on one of these strategies for a while. Let me give just two examples where this is currently a problem: To terraform a planet, you need ...

Re: Rework pop. bonuses for Tall vs Wide and Terraforming

Well I try gladly: At the moment terraforming competes with other building projects like warships, colonies etc. That is why I like to have an resource that is produced independent of focus. If it is independent of focus, then it is a no-brainer. I don't like it. I do like the competence between ev...

Re: Fiftteent game on the multiplayer slow game server

Yesterday I was able to play two turns in a row, good. Tonight I came back to play and the turn is not done (I can connect once a day, as I explained before; not specifically to FO, to the Internet in general). So a new turn will begin in one hour, when I will not be there anymore, which means that...

Re: Rework pop. bonuses for Tall vs Wide and Terraforming

1.) At the moment terraforming isn't worth the effort I think the suggestion in the openning post addresses that issue better than having EPs intead of PPs to build terraforming. I still can't see how changing the name of PPs to EPs solves that issue (explanations welcome). 2.) Organic growth speci...

Re: Stealth for Supply Lines

I see now another use case: Hidden empire that is losing the research race and enemies got to see its planets: switch to focus that boosts planetary stealth the colonies under attack until you get the next planetary stealth tech. Plus the already mentioned sneak attack by a not-hidden empire: sneak ...

Re: Stealth for Supply Lines

Or remove supply stealth on starlanes that bump with other empire's supply (if you don't let them pass, they know you are there). Thats what I originally thought "soft" hidden starlanes (not exerting supply pressure). The main problem I see is that you have to detect a starlane to not exert pressur...

Re: Testing Government and Influence

1. I think #outposts should not influence the colonies upkeep, just have a flat IP upkeep (1 IP for starters). 2. Yes, I put in relation influence output per colony and average influence upkeep per colony (for Autarky, all colonies would have the same upkeep, for Distributed Economy and Federation m...

Re: Stealth for Supply Lines

I think that could work: show it clearly but only if it bumps (enemy supply stopping yours). Also make it look the same if a hidden military vessel stops your supply somewhere . This makes it a lot harder to determine exact locations, reasons and supply values. That could be worth including. Absolu...

Has Ophiuchus said anything to you? Maybe we should pause game or what? If I attack his stack knowing it won't move, I'll feel dirty.
