"Technosis v0" posted. Uses only patches from my new Roland Fantom XR module, recorded through my new M-Audio Firewire 410 interface. (By "new" I of course mean purchased last Oct/Nov-ish, but left to rust until yesterday due to World of Warcraft. ;) Volume level on this recordin...

A source of dead mongeese...

For anyone who might be wondering where I've been or what I've been up to the last few months... While I'd like to say work has kept me busy (thus implying I've been making money), well, I don't have a job; While I'd like to say I've been on vacation (thus implying I've been doing something exciting...

Thanks for the suggestion. I did indeed listen to the track samples of that band's CD on amazon.com (which was all I could find quickly). All I can say at the moment is anything with vocals (ie real humans singing) is going to sound different from stuff we produce here, and for the most part I think...

How about the hum of thousands of flourescent lights lighting the crops, combined with some threshing sounds; perhaps an occasional water valve opening and thence a gurgling or rushing water sound; perhaps a water spraying sound; perhaps machete chops as fruit is harvested. I like this suggestion a...

Re: Was at local

guiguibaah wrote:Was at the local EB Games today. Moo2 was for sale for 14.99 in it's classic packed CD rom set. The next shelf across the isle was Moo3, selling for 9.99 in it's box.

First time I've ever seen a prequel cost more than it's sequel :)
That's a truly wonderful gem of a report, right there.

Dang, so silly, allowing one but not the other... Anyway, I like these Strat. Favorites are click1, distantexpl, menuitem, menuitemselect, and mouseoverfleet1. notification1 and 2 are the right idea but too harsh sounding. Have yet to find click noises I really love though, how about something pneum...

There was an old game called Pax Imperia that was MOO-like cept it had starlanes (with no off-roading) and nice RTS ship combat. Dunno if any of you remember it. Any rate in that game there was a choice with shields. There were two seperate lines you could climb in the tech tree: at the very top, th...

Mmm, detailed comments... <hugs MisterMerf> LithiumMongoose: READ THIS! lol I read everything people write, especially in this thread. :) The truth is, I greatly enjoyed all of the songs with two exceptions: "There Can Be Only One" and "Portal Mastery". And even those I wouldn't ...

The 4 weapon types: Energy Kinetic Explosive Corrosive You know, I'm almost starting to think Kinetic should be rolled into Energy, since they're both piercing-type attacks. And I still like Exotic as a damage category, even though it wasn't well-received heh: one tries to get past by boring a hole...

Sorry to SirRogue for breaking the potential continuity of his reviews with this interruption, but... :) Sword of Stars v1.5 -- Okay, I've never used a fractional version number before, but it seemed appropriate here. So sue me. Small amount of new material on the end. Massive instrumentation overha...

Well each new type makes the counter system more complex. Plus dark matter or dark weapons seem , what are they exactly other than 'dark'. Cool, mysterious, the very incarnation of "exotic", lol. They're what Zeratul and the Dark Templar make their 'warp blades' weapons out of. :p Honestl...

No, energy I am thinking of as concentrated energy buring through armour. Explosive is a more forceful means against armour, trying to force the armour apart rather than force its way throuhg. Thermal seems redundant to me though. Sort of a "crushing vs piercing, disregarding slashing" ap...

Edit -- oops, nevermind. :) I reckon it would be cool if low tech stealth you had to decloak to fire. But high tech stealth you could fire while cloaked. Like in StarCraft you have cloaked units (Dark Templar) that can attack while invisible, though there are detectors to detect them. You could have...

I don't actually think exploration drones, while a cool idea, adds to gameplay in any helpful way. That's the role scout ships are for; if I'm at war with you I'd want to be able to shoot down any drones you send into my empire just like I would shoot down your scout ships, and at least on planets w...
