Re: Detection Range Circles

Sounds good. I updated the patch with the 2 points you just stated.

I didn't noticed the 4 spaces VS tabs. Thanks for the head up.

Re: Detection Range Circles

I'm now stating in my signature that all the code I'm posting will be released under the GPL 2.0 or later. Is that okay?

I updated the label string as well and attached the result.

Re: Detection Range Circles

Geoff, I'm posting the attached patch so that you can review it and possibly commit it, if it's suitable. Dilvish gave me a few advice here and there on the way. The new option can bet set to a value between 0 and 8. The actual value is multiplied by 8 at rendering to become the circle_colour.a valu...

Re: Detection Range Circles

Sure, I'll be happy to work on this option, as I already have a good idea where to work, especially with what you just said. :)

Re: Detection Range Circles

I've been fooling around a bit with the code, being able to modify the circle's opacity. It make things look a bit better later in game and it's easier on the eyes. Perhaps I'd be able to an option for that in the Option Window if others are interested. The following screenshots uses an opacity of 2...

Re: Detection Range Circles

Why not? If a player has the relevant info according to the game rules, the UI will / should provide that info when requested. Detection range is based on meter values, and detected objects' meter values are generally known. Hmm, I have to agree with you here, it does indeed make a lot of sense. I ...

Detection Range Circles

Do you guys enable the Detection Range Circles when playing ? I usually enable then, but at some point later in the game, I have disable them most of the time because it seems the entire map is within my detection, which makes things waaaaayy too green. I'll go ahead and suggest the following: What ...

About the Galaxy Seeds

The Galaxy Setup screen always keeps every settings from the last played game, including the seed. By keeping the seed, it allows you to play on the same exact map as you did in your previous game. Although it's all right to bring back the previous seed (in case you'd want to play in the same univer...

My Introduction

Hello, I found about FreeOrion approximately 2 weeks ago. It's a shame I didn't know about this game before. I sort of grew tired over time of most of the RTS games I used to play and figured it was time to sit back and relax while playing a space 4x game instead. After hours of Internet search and ...
