eleazar I think you forgot that StarTrek (especially TNG) wasn't meant to be battle oriented. It was rather moral/diplomacy oriented. not only that, the show is about human development - bettering yourself, for the greater good, and all that fuzzy warm stuff... and btw, its really the only show of ...

I don't think that will work for me, I'm not running windows.

I installed Tiger, but it doesn't support system 9 software....bummer. Why is Mac so backward compatible unfriendly?! Its quite annoying...

hey Gui I was just listening to the 'Ancients' track. Great melody and harmony. You also develop it nicely, but I was wondering why after the last chord (before the end) you end on FA (4th degree)? It seems really out of place... just wondering... its just popped out at me since I wanted to hear DO ...

Can Mac OSX run older games?

I have Mac OSX Panther and it doesn't have System 9 on it.

I found bunch of old freeware games but they'll only run on OS9...

How can I run older software that requires OS 9?

I heard maybe Tiger can do it? Any truth there?

Simply put, the user will be able to bypass the audio pretty easily, whether we make it completely customizable or not. There WILL be staple tracks, obviously -- the game will start with a full set of them. But I don't think allowing some to be changed and not others really gets us anything. I dunn...

as much as I do think it should be customizable, I also think there should be some staple tracks - a main theme, ending, combat etc... To give the game an identity. Although I'm not sure about this, but I don't think you can fully customize the graphic files. So something along those guide lines. i....

I like the sound design or 'soundscapes', pretty cool stuff. Menuscore - would be a great 'Alien Sound' for a diplomacy screen. med1 - sounds almost 'renaissance', again maybe cool for a certain Race. menu2nodrums - is cool, I like the changes. a good fit for this type of game for even an ambient tr...

This is a good idea and very possible. It was my understanding that the game would be fully customizable in many ways. And the races were definitely one of those options. It seems like music should follow suit. However, the musics would have to be categorized in generic terms. i.e.: Set 1 - Militant...

I mean a real *sound*, opposed to blips and bleeps of a synthetic machine. Blips and bleeps are awesome. A good chunk of my favorite music ever is from old NES and SNES games (and at least one modern one, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance). I love the way that stuff sounds. hey I never said that stuff ...

When every note is exactly a full duration and all velocities are the same, even too much in-time, it just sounds wrong. I meant to say in your case it was just the 'note off' that sounded harsh. Meaning, a normal acoustical sound has decay, even if a player mutes or shuts off a note. Acoustically ...

I'm not necessarily trying to simulate real instruments You misunderstand when I say real instruments opposed to computer music. I mean a real *sound*, opposed to blips and bleeps of a synthetic machine. Notes that have no dynamics or no phrasings are VERY noticeable to the human ear. It can sound ...
