I really don't like that one-turn-flying idea because it clashes (in my mind) witht he "fighters shoot from within the shields" fluff. "Oh, really? and how did they get there that fast? My superfast missiles are still on the fly!". Thats because of the precursor power the intelligent beings tapped ...

Gamma Burst Slingshots role is to remove chaff (small structure ships) in the beginning of the combat i.e. it needs to be long range. You could make it 2-shot or 1-shot though. I do not like the two phases in a bout approach too much. It could make the code more convoluted and makes another pass ove...

the target object is the ship. partname is mandatory, it is used to look up the part to which you want to apply the effect. Did you run the numbers for making hull cost more expensive vs part cost? What are the balancing effects?

Else I think we should wait after hard targeting, default 4 combat bouts and gamma ray slingshot are integrated.

I released a build for snapd channel "edge/v0.4.9/KISSTargetsHard (rev 69)

and i can also see the AI issue. Will fix it soon but shouldnt matter for the game.

It is maybe redundant, but necessary ATM as the backend only supports two-param Or conditions, you have to nest. That's what I thought at the first moment, but I also found a Or condition with three params, the OR(defense>0,shield>0,construction>0) for armed planets. . So is it supported or not? Ou...

While I'm at this, I've spotted the following: The Or condition in line 321 of CombatSystem.cpp is redundant. ... Although I wouldn't put it quite so bluntly, Marcel is right - "latest/stable" is quite clear and unambiguous, especially once dedicated channels for specific releases are provided (which is the case now).
