Re: Semi Leave

Lawl, guess what guys; IT'S BACK! Haha, I was doing a google search on my name, and guess what came up. Oh my god, I can't believe.... the memories. I'd like to conscript for work, good sirs. I'm abit more educated now. I'm in year two of my animation college course, taught by Geoff Davidson (he's f...

Another good one to use is blender. It is free, with alot of plugins and support. They just released a new version recently.

As for finding the internal space, if a model is built right, 3DS can find that out for us. I would be willing to scale abunch of ships if necessary so that all the ships have a internal volume close to all others of their class size.

I never said anything about atmosphere spheres. I had the wrong idea, so the last part can be ignored.

As for making building, I can do some. Just tell me what buildings, and show me examples if I have to match architecture styles.

Re: update on planning.

-Graphical prepresention of planet condition and infrastructure level on planet-view - Obiwan, we'll see how we have time. If the engine supports self illuminosity maps, and about half the planet is dark or "nightside" in the UI, it is then a simple process of making illumination maps wit...

Oh, now I get it. I thought it was always that way. I just haven't been around long enough.

As for the engine, we could prolly use something like what is it Star Wars: battle for Endor. We won't need much to beat the MOO 3 engine...

My only problem with all that is you are just complaining, and not really giving solutions. When you say that you want to design a ship and have intuitive interface, you don't realize how hard it is too do that. You aren't saying "Do this, it will make it better" and then backing it up. Yo...

Ok, either way. I haven't done much of realtime rendering work, and the stuff I have done was high lvl of detail. What ever requirements are put on things, I will follow. But it is my opinion that the ships should be able to hold up if they are viewed individually (EI one ship as the focus, but you ...

Lol, WATCH OUT! We don't know about ship paint and we have pretty clouds, but we will still kick your butt! Just kidding. The clouds and Earth themselves are really great, I am just not a fan of the cloud layout. And the ship, while having amazing modelling work done, looks like it is lacking textur...

I did say highest. That stuff is like revolutionary, at the moment. I know that there is a CG Sov for Bridge commander that uses 512 X 512, looks amazing. I would say like 128 X 128, and like 256 X 256 for the biggest things. It could also be easy to make smaller textures for low end machines. I jus...

We can have a really nice and visually appealing UI, and one that fits the theme at the same time. We should take the opprotunity. And also, I don't know about that texture thing, but it isn't a big problem to have it square, and in powers of 2. The highest texture on a game model should be about 51...

I am willing to pick up any slack. I am still in the design and drawing stages of the new website shell.

I can do a volume of 3d modelling. And I would rather be assigned something than hav my choice.
