Re: What is your favourite alien species and WHY?
I think the races from the old Star Fleet Battles game by Amarillo Design Bureau are really relevant because of the way each race specialized in different starship weapon technologies and tactics for them. I can see FO races designed with advantages in developing specific starship weapon technologie...

Re: Planet population dies off?
So they do have a colonize button that you just didn't see before? But they die off still without explanation and appear with your empire's colour after dieing? Never saw a colonize button because I never sent a colony ship back there. But yes, if there's a colonized planet in the same system, then...

Re: Planet population dies off?
What effects are modifying the health meter of these planets? Check the tooltip on the health meter icon (heart) on the planet panel. Another colonized planet in a system shouldn't affect whether a planet can be colonized, regardless of whether or not it has previously been colonized. Thanks. I did...

Planet population dies off?
I've noticed that on some marginal worlds, even if producing enough food and in resource supply range of the Empire, that the population slowly and inexorably dies off until the planet ends up with zero population. In systems with another successful planet, I don't think there's even a way to recolo...

Re: Can't build ships or research tech after multiple turns
Does this always happen after clicking a sitrep link, or just sometimes? Sometimes. After playing for a number of turns. Might it be related to what the tech filters were the last time you were on the research screen? For example, maybe if you research and click a link for a growth category tech bu...

Re: Can't build ships or research tech after multiple turns
The production problem is probably this: http://www.freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2757 Yes, that sounds like the same problem. For research, can you explain a bit more? How are you trying to enqueue techs and in what way does it fail? What sequence of clicks or screens is required to...

Can't build ships or research tech after multiple turns
I'm running the latest version on Mac OS 10.5.7. On systems with shipyards and orbital docks, after a number of turns of play, it becomes impossible to add new ships to the queue. Possibly related, sometimes it also becomes impossible to enqueue new research. Sometimes, changing the view options, li...

Hiding completed buildings on production screen list
My apologies if this has been discussed, but I find it annoying to have to mouse over the list of completed buildings on a planet to see if I've built a specific building. If I've built a building, shouldn't it not be displayed in the list of available buildings for that planet? Are there examples w...

That works. Thanks very much!.Id wrote:But maybe before that happens, you can try my own upload that works for me at least and let me know if you find any other problems.
Here is my upload.
The zipfiles can be unzipped & combined with the `unpack-FO` bash script example.

Thanks. Looks like folks are aware of the issue. I'll just wait to see if a new installer is released.Geoff the Medio wrote:Issues with dylib were discussed here: viewtopic.php?p=36253#p36253

Re: FreeOrion-0.3.13 won't launch on Mac OS X 10.5.7
I chmod'ed the binary to 766 and that helped (thanks!), so there is one problem with the Mac download that needs to be fixed. However, upon launch I get "The application FreeOrion quit unexpectedly" dialog. The console log now says: [0x0-0x114114].org.FreeOrion[1592] dyld: Library not load...

FreeOrion-0.3.13 won't launch on Mac OS X 10.5.7
Just downloaded the 5-26-09 release. Tried to launch in both admin and standard accounts. Don't have the Developer Tools installed (needed?). Trying to launch, nothing happens. Console log consistently returns the same message: com.apple.launchd[116] ([0x0-0xc40c4].org.FreeOrion[1274]) posix_spawnp(...
