Re: BOTF 2, similar project

My initial focus with Supremacy has been to support basic multiplayer gameplay. I felt it was best to get something playable out in the wild so that I could get more extensive feedback about the game mechanics. In the long run, it would be much more costly to adjust the game mechanics with the AI al...

Re: BOTF 2, similar project

the little project made it into Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/startreksupremacy/index.html?tag=result;title;0 , in the netherlands, it's currently even the top game of the week . I have a gut feeling this will lead to something in the future considering the license status of the ...

Re: BOTF 2, similar project

Just thought I'd post an update. The credits screen has been checked into source control, and I'm just waiting for one of our team members to finish compiling a list of contributions before I push out a new build. I also included a nice, big, "Special Thanks to the freeOrion Project" line ...

Re: BOTF 2, similar project

great, thx! I talked to him and he is finding WPF really cool. One thing we didn't find was if WPFG still needs .NET 3.5 Framework installed on client machines to run. From your knowledge of WPF, do you think that this project is already advanced enough to start implementing it or should one wait f...

Re: BOTF 2, similar project

Sure, I'd be willing to help SirP come to grips with the WPF architecture. Granted WPFG has some significant differences, as it's based on native C++ and does not target the .NET Framework. As such he cannot use any of my code directly, but much of it could be fairly easily translated. I could also ...

Re: BOTF 2, similar project

Hi Mike ;). Didn't think about the two architectures being incompatible source-wise so sorry about the use-of-code part. I just recalled some staff room thread back then on our old boards, but only faintly :). No worries, I was just setting the record straight to put any GPL/Ms-RL license incompati...

Re: BOTF 2, similar project

Hi all, First let me offer my profuse apologies for neglecting to include proper attribution for the freeOrion artwork used in Supremacy. Below is an e-mail conversation I just had with Mathias (pd): On Sun, May 11, 2008 at 10:09 AM, Mathias Koehler <info@optisch-edel.de> wrote: Hi, it came to my in...

Re: Gry music

Hey, I like it. Some of the sounds are very reminiscent of MoO2. What kind of synths do you use?

For some reason, the synth brass reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis...

You can find a lot of information about modding BotF on Armada Fleet Command. The Ultimate Mod v3 by Dafedz is the first mod to feature new ship models with working phasers. Jigalypuff is also another well-known BotF modder. They both visit the AFC forums regularly.
