Multiplayer Co-Habitation
It would be nice to have an option of starting in the same system but on a different class planet as the other human player. We play truly cooperatively and think that it might be fun to each have opposite environments so that we can both fully colonize each system quickly. It would allow our fleets...

Got the crossover ethernet cable and direct-connect works just fine. We have to disconnect from the wireless to start a game over the wire, then we reconnect to the wireless for using the internet on the side. The cable maintains the game when the internet is dropped out by the microwave being used....

Yeah, I think about it now and see that is the case. My entry to FreeOrion was through a google search for 'master orion remake' and freeorion.org was the top link, so I guess it's in my head that way from google. My bad, but probably a common enough misconception.

Just noticed that the MoO2 page at wikipedia doesn't reference FreeOrion, and neither does the List of video game remakes. I don't think I am the person to try and advert FO, so I'm just sayin...

The ability to 'tame' a Dyson tree and use it as a space station, or to fly into battle with a worm in your fleet to help you do battle. Different minor species have the ability to 'tame' different types of monsters so ships made on their worlds attain the ability to try to tame wildlife.

Would be nasty to force it build-able on your home-world only - 'kill me and I scorch the earth around me' tactic. Severe restrictions on implementation seem logical though. Alien Crossfire has the 'Fusion Bomb' that wipes out a whole city and blasts the land away, and other games have similar Doom ...

The Galaxy Setup screen always keeps every settings from the last played game, including the seed. By keeping the seed, it allows you to play on the same exact map as you did in your previous game. It would be useful if this were also the case for multi-player games. I actually prefer to start sing...

EDIT: You want it clearer than mud, eh? Ok. A minor re-write. I am currently trying to break this stable build in as many ways possible so that I can understand better exactly how the game engine works. So in the future I will be able to spot truly unique bugs when I encounter them. And it's fun too...
