Re: Planet Specials
TIL from this article that albedo of asteroids varies quite importantly, so here's two new Specials on Asteroid Belts : Low-Albedo Asteroids : Provide +20 stealth to the Asteroid Belt itself. Provide +20 stealth to Outposts once outposted, but minus 10 stealth to colonies (they show up more promine...

Re: Thoughts on Flanking & Charge
Mass drivers at least get biggest bang for the buck as far as flanking is concerned (I think it really should increase weapon level, not damage by 6...) and you don't need a lot of research.. In some ways I like that mass drivers have something special going for them. How would people feel about th...

Re: Large hull vs Small Hull Balance
Regarding carriers, true. It's mostly about how many internal slots you're bringing to the fight Not sure if that needs fixing, maybe large hulls should indeed be mostly about lots of direct damage thanks to lots.of external slots? Otherwise, perhaps progressively larger hulls should pack progressi...

Re: Large hull vs Small Hull Balance
Basic, dry-dock and incubators become 25% more expensive. What ? Architectural comes late, so up to the Orbital Incubator the cost should not raise; only later shipyards should get affected. No actually it doesn't. Which is a large part of the point. ArchitecturalPsychology.png ArchitecturalMonofil...

Re: Rebalance Organic Growth?/Organic Hull Balance
Currently Symbiots tend to be the dominant hull choice in MP and it gets boring to see the same hulls all the time, used by all players. They could use a minor nerf. On the other hand Endosymbiotics, Endomorphics and Ravenous Hulls are extremely rare (but mostly decent hulls). They could use a minor...

Rebalance Organic Growth?/Organic Hull Balance
If you want to nerf Symbiotics, maybe reduce their initial Structure and make them grow a big longer to compensate for it (so that a fully grown gets the same structure as it has now, I mean). I'm not sure about the balance, but for fun I'd like the Protoplasmic to also grow longer to get more Stru...

Re: Large hull vs Small Hull Balance
Had a more interesting idea then directly changing shipyard costs.
Architectural Monofilaments: Discount "Orbital" buildings by 25% (basically non-asteroid shipyards)
Contra-gravs moves to gravitonics pre-req
Basic, dry-dock and incubators become 25% more expensive.

Re: Large hull vs Small Hull Balance
There's also the core slot on the self-grav. There's potential for an anti-fighter weapon, like a grav pulse there.

Re: Large hull vs Small Hull Balance
Otherwise self gravs can benefit from design simplicity, you don't have to fill all spots, and resulting ship would still be pretty reasonable I think. It's not a deal breaker on a self-grav. It is however a deal breaker on heavy asteroids and the rarer 7+ slot organics. The only real point to thos...

Re: Large hull vs Small Hull Balance
From my perspective cellular growth chamber isn't a "separate shipyard" it's an "upgrade" and the reason is to move the cost of symbiot/static shipyards without moving the cost of protoplasmic shipyards. Mostly its hard to improve the balance between symbiots and other, without c...

I almost guarantee that's a bug. I suggest opening a github issue for it, and the odd annexing behaviour.

Re: Military Command Cost
Edit: Probably this: Have an animated version: https://twitter.com/infected/status/1749097039684677711 Interesting thing, not sure if you've counted, is that starting influence generation is 2, not 3 as imperial palance would suggest, so adopting propaganda broadcasts first turn doesn't make a diff...

Re: Twenty-sixth game on the multiplayer slow game server
hmm conceding has changed not to leave ships behind? When Endhu conceded in MP23 I think I still had a pile of his ships to contend with, though without the techs of Endhu (they didn't keep em) they were much easier to deal with If that's a deliberate change I'm not aware of it, though there are ti...

Re: Twenty-sixth game on the multiplayer slow game server
So not a pure bomber fleet then? True, but who goes a pure laser fleet? With not a single flak at least? I bet those interceptors present targets to other fighter (except for bombers). The point I was trying to make that carriers presenting defensive cover against other carriers through t...
