Re: Mass Drivers: Power issue
I looked at the numbers and especially since there will be a more guardian type ships now that they usually protect special growth resources, i greatly lowered the armor of the L1 and L2 guards. revision 5001 "Greatly weakend the Sentry and Sentinel, giving the guards different amounts of 'pre...

That one sounds interesting. Is it still in the game?Bigjoe5 wrote:I gave floaters bioweapons a while back, so they can damage/destroy colonies with no defenses, but are themselves defenseless against ships.

Re: What is your favourite alien species and WHY?
Daleks from Doctor Who are my apsolute favorites! Mainly because they are amusing at times. I LOL'd when they said "Exterminate!" for the first time.

Re: Desert Earthworm
About that autotrophy, I got a little tangled up. What I meant to say is that they mainly feed by synthesis, but when its colder, like during the rain season, they are carnivores (or even better, omnivores). I'll edit it. About the peanut brains, its telepathy. It creates a neural network. If they a...

Re: [PATCH] Sorting buttons -- IN PROGRESS
Sorry to make your attempt to be helpful so complicated. It's Ok. :) This is the only thing that can possibly fill the days of summer vacation, I have no reason to quit now. I also find problem solving fun. And it's my favorite WIP game ever we're talking about. Thanks for all your support. You sur...

Re: [PATCH] Sorting buttons -- IN PROGRESS
I think I'll start working tomorrow. It'll be a droplist used for filtering. Also, can someone tell me how does the PlanetPanelContainer sort planets? I can't find the code anywhere!

Desert Earthworm
NOTE: I have been heavily inspired by Mass Effect Thresher Maws. Summary Large, subterrenean creatures, resembling earthworms or other annelid creatures. They have adapted to hot environments and are relying on thermosynthesis to get starch out of organic matter they ingest while burrowing through t...

Re: Mass Drivers: Power issue
I'm not saying things are perfectly balanced, but your core complaint: "some monsters are very hard at the start" is intentional. OK, I understand that. If the point is to make the game more challenging, there should be some more monsters late-game, more powerful ones. This is off-topic, ...

Mass Drivers: Power issue
Mass drivers are incredibly weak. Laser 1 is 10x more powerful than Mass Driver 1, whereas Plasma 1 is only 3x more powerful than lasers. IMO, Mass drivers should be at least twice, maybe even 3 times as powerful, as it is quite easy to stumble upon Sentries in the first 50-60 turns, where lasers ar...

Re: [PATCH] Sorting buttons -- IN PROGRESS
Well, some form of sorting and/or filtering was requested on the tracker page on Sourceforge. So, it's a feature request.eleazar wrote:That's too vague to agree with.iksi99 wrote:I think the best solution is to implement a bit of everything. Agreed?
What problem specifically are you trying to address?

[PATCH] Sorting buttons -- IN PROGRESS
I'm trying to make some buttons to sort the sidepanel planets by Population, Farming, etc. and I have an idea how to do it, but because it changes the interface I thought I should consult with others about the position of the buttons in the sidepanel. Please give your opinion in the replies. Also, i...
