Re: FreeOrion Roadmap
Thanks for that. Yes, you are right that we rely on the devs as they are the ones that move the project along and because of that a more dynamic plan is suitable. People aren't going to stick to a plan when the planners have left years before. It is the current generation of contributers that define...

Re: FreeOrion Roadmap
OK thanks. However, looking at that roadmap, there is no plan. The things to be done need to be defined version by version. Otherwise you don't know the scope. You will be working on version 0.4 forever until it is spontaneously decided that you are on version 0.5. I think there needs to be more of ...

Re: FreeOrion Roadmap
Hi everyone, I have taken the road map on page one of this thread and made a few adjustments, incorporating the verson 0.4 design pad in the detailed version 0.4 section. Included here is stuff we have already done - please let me know if there is anything I have missed. Let's get acceptance on the ...

Re: It was an enjoyable defeat in my first play of FreeOrion
That would be why. I had the robotic interface shields !MatGB wrote:Other issue with the Robotic design-Robotic Interface Shields can only be built by Robotic species, if they're part of the design they'll never show up normally. So if the ship had that, Gysache can't use it.

It was an enjoyable defeat in my first play of FreeOrion
Morning All, I have played version v0.4.4-7641 of FreeOrion on Windows 7. This was my first play of FreeOrion in a long time. I have played a few earlier versions. I chose the Gyisache. I quite like their combination of industry and science race bonus. Because it was my first game, I didn't do very ...

Re: Forum unread posts
Thanks Geoff,
I tried that, didn't find any answers.
I think one needs to be a admin of these forums to add the 'mark all posts as read' button.

Forum unread posts
Hi,
I have just returned, after being away from the forum for a long time.
Is there a way to mark all unread posts as read ?
Then I can see new stuff easier. Cheers

Re: Species Write-Ups
See! English is a stupid language, there's no clear pronounciation for any particular spelling or letter combination, why the rest of the world persists in using it is beyond me, I'm stuck with it ;-) Soft g never occured to me, at all. Gee-Sack is how I've always said it and I paly them a fair bit...

Gyisache - cowardly sheep like effects
For the Gyisache, which are the cowardly sheep like race, is it possible to create a script like this: 1) Increased happiness if there are more colonized Gyisache planets within the same system. 2) Increased happiness if colonized Gyisache systems are closer together. 3) In battle, a ship has increa...

Re: Species Write-Ups
I created the race, its name and the ponounciation and every time I read it, I read it as Jee-Yay-sh. Lol
(The original pronounciation was Yee-Saish).

Re: Species Write-Ups
Regardless of the original intent, if there's a letter in there that's not obviously silent (g before y), I'm going to pronounce it. And regardless of the original intent, I don't see a way to pronounce "-saish" (seye-sh, say-sh, sah-ish, ?) that would be a sensible interpretation of &quo...

That's right ... it's been so longeleazar wrote: IIRC the Gyisache have fingers on their eyestalks. That detail is just too small for the icon.
