Looking at the roadmap I dont see anything about the AI in it. In my opinion the AI is probably one of the most important parts of a strategy game so when exactly is this going to programmed?
I know this needs to be at the end of the project and isnt important at this point but I was curious.

Programming on the first version will start soon; it will serve as a testbed for the python integration. In fact, my local development version is already able to send scouts.

How about various degrees of difficulty for YoghurtBot?
like:
- Genius
- Hard
- Normal
- Easy
- Idiot
- You should be shot if you can't beat him now.

Unless, of course, you would be so devious as to actually build attack ships or defense stations.

That sounds like a lot of work? Can't I set it to "easy" or something?
Skaro:Difficulty settings would only really be needed on the last releases. Maybe even only for v1.0 itself.

You can set it to "lawyer" and when the first scouts take a look at your planets, sue it for being a stalker.
Edit: fix typo
